Porsche Boxster 3.2 S Tiptronic S 550 Spyder Anniversary edition Finished in GT Silver metallic paint. A very rare special limited edition Porsche Boxster 550 Spyder Anniversary edition finished in GT Silver build number 1047 complete with a huge specification.The Boxster 550 Anniversary was claimed by the manufacturer when new to be styled after the 550 Spyder offering similar bodylines, mid-engine roadster configuration, low weight, excellent agility, and a high level of driving pleasure.This was further endorsed with performance enhancements and additional styling cues not previously available on Boxster models.For added performance, the new Boxster S edition was equipped with the most powerful engine ever offered in the Boxster model line.Rated at 264 horsepower, the 3.2 flat-six cylinder power plant propels the car from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 165 mph.Sportier suspension settings,5 mm wheel spacers and 18 inch Carrera wheels improve the handling.As most 550 Spyders were painted silver,so too was the new special edtion Boxster S,finished in GT Silver Metallic,it is a colour only found on the Carrera GT and “40 Years of the 911” models. For additional visual emphasis,the wheel spokes were painted in Seal Grey with crested centre caps and the monoblock brake calipers have an aluminum paint finish.Other exclusive exterior styling features included silver-painted grills above the rear strut openings a specially created stainless steel tailpipe,chrome plated and polished Boxster S lettering on the rear deck lid and safety bar padding that matched the car’s interior.The center panels of the standard heated seats,handbrake lever,gear lever gate,ball-shaped aluminum gearshift knob,inside door handles and padded sport steering wheel are covered in perforated leather.The rear section of the center console,handbrake lever,grooved bar on the dashboard,switch panel and the back of the safety bars are painted in GT Silver Metallic. Instruments are uniquely styled with black faces surrounded by chrome plated decorative rings.Other standard features included Porsche Stability Management (PSM),an on-board computer,Litronic headlamps with dynamic beam angle adjustment and a cleaning system and a wind stop.The Dark Grey natural leather interior with corresponding black top and carpets complete the list of options. Named after its corresponding internal design project number,the original 550 Spyder was the first Porsche sports car created exclusively with racing in mind.Among its numerous racing successes was a class victory in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana the famed Mexican road race.Triumphs such as this contributed to the Porsche brand fame and its current familiarity among the general public.Production of the Boxster 550 Anniversary was limited to 1953 units to commemorate the 550 Spyder’s introduction at the 1953 Paris Motor Show.A limited-edition plate on the centre console indicates the Anniversary car’s production number and this example is number 1047.This particular car has the added bonus of numerous factory options added which include PCM 2.0 linked with Bose sound package,wind deflector with flycatchers,colour crester wheel centres,park assist and top tint windscreen.This stunning future classic comes complete with a fully documented OPC Porsche Bournemouth service record together with a service just completed by ourselves, all handbooks and spare keys.This Boxster is something special and is a pleasure to show and pass on to a likeminded enthusiast!
