“After having a very traumatic experience writing off my car, the insurance money agreed to pay out a fair valuation. I’m a complete novice when it comes to buying a car, but after getting in touch with Ian of JR Motor Company I felt a little better about buying a car without me having any mechanical knowledge. Hi Ian,Thought it was time to send some feedback on the 2005 987 3.2s bought from yourselves 3 months ago. All I can say is that a dealer is only as good as their aftercare service they provide, and not just palming you off on “bundled 3rd party warranties” You provided great re-assurance when, on the day after I had taken possession the car failed to start. Remote diagnostics by you and T (PorschWerks) identified the problem as a duff battery – which I hasten to add did not show itself when I inspected the vehicle and took for test drive Luckily, with my neighbours help, I sourced a replacement and you made good on refund, as per telephone conversations. I never felt as though I was being left hung out to dry by either Ian or T – and they were as good as their word when they said they would call back to check if all was ok. I have had 2 previous Boxsters, 986 (2.7) and 987 3.2s from 2 different dealers….. All I can say is, buy from Ian, his passion is Porsche, and the staff he surrounds himself with do him credit. – Don’t buy a specialist car from a generic car dealership, who just happen to have a Porsche on the forecourt!! Here’s to more (s)miles of motoring and I will definitely buy my next Porsche from Ian, you cannot put a price on great customer aftersales service.Peter Dubar

Ian has been a gentleman from the first phone enquiry I made, no question was too much trouble and their were several. Ian pick me and my young daughter up from the local station without any prompting, and allowed me to take my time looking over the car. They made sure all the history etc was present and correct, they were happy to answer any questions at the time and weeks/months after the sale. I’ve known and dealt with Ian over the past four years and he’s become someone that I not only trust to buy cars from, but have called upon for advice on a number of occasions which he is always willing to give, even when it involves potential purchases that are nothing to do with him. This time around I wanted another 911 from Ian and, as ever, he was more than happy to talk me through what he had and try to match up a car to my needs or, as he put it, go and find me another one if he didn’t have something I wanted – and I think that’s the difference with this true Porsche Specialist, there really is no ‘big sell’ or pressure, and nor is there an insistence upon making a quick decision, it’s all very relaxed, informed and geared up to you. It’s unusual in that you end up feeling it’s truly a buyer-led process rather than a sales-led one. For these reasons I really can’t recommend JR Motor Co highly enough, along with the fact there’s always a great selection of cars available for sale and in preparation (give them a call, don’t just go by what’s listed on the website as there’s always a few more good ones in the pipeline or undergoing pre-sales prep). Can say with some certainty that this latest car won’t be my last from Ian and I know when it’s time to sell he will be the first guy I call too.James B

I bought a 911 996 C4S from Ian in August 20. I had been to visit the car twice before deciding to purchase and like others have said the experience at JR Motor Company is a great one, no hard sell but plenty of information and advice if you need it. Ian was always very helpful and the showroom was great, a real mix of stock, and all in excellent condition. Once I had agreed to purchase my car Ian was really helpful and communicated with me almost every day for a week until I was able to pick the car up (despite him being on holiday at the time!). 4 months on, my car has been great and I have loved every minute of owning it. I did have one issue with it in the first week where the steering column lock had seized (it is a 16 yr old car with 2 previous owners, so had probably only been moved twice in its life) and I could not lock it back in place – I spoke to Ian over the phone and he arranged and paid for it to be fixed at my local specialist centre as I live over an hour away from his dealership. I hadn’t thought of having a Boxster until I began to look for a replacement for my cherished 996 C4S after it was unkindly written off by a careless driver smashing into me. I came across JR Motors, and made contact with Ian. The Boxster I hoped to view had already gone, but another of similar spec had just arrived, and I ended up buying a 987 Gen 2 3.4S with a good spec. You need to act swiftly, as the cars don’t stay on the forecourt for very long… I have found Ian to be enthusiastic, and the back-up after purchase is excellent. A couple of issues that need resolving were dealt with speedily, and I had cruise control retro-fitted to save my licence. Fantastic dealings with Ian and team

Initially, spoke to Ian on the phone about a Boxster I was keen to travel to view. Ian was very helpful, providing plentiful information on the car’s provenance, spec and condition, and also patiently listened to my raft of questions, providing insightful answers. I arranged to travel up to view the car, and was met at the station by Griff, another of the team, and taken to the dealership. The car was waiting on the forecourt, immaculately presented, and Ian was quick to come and say “Hi” and talk a little more on the car (which looked ace!). With a cup of coffee made for me, and in my hand, I was then able to sit down and spend some time with the car’s service history/invoices etc., and have a good look at the car without being hurried. I took up the invitation to take the car for a test drive, and spent a fair old time getting lost in the local roads, whilst enjoying the car – it was exactly as advertised, which was great. I decided I needed to think my purchase through, so ducked off for lunch nearby – time to mull over; again, no pressure, just “take your time” and this was really appreciated. On my return, shook hands on the deal and the paperwork, payment, tax and so on was all taken care of in a very short space of time – happy customer! One final thing to mention, to show the level of service. I was not sure how to load the CD autochanger, so Ian was showing me before I headed home (with a tank of fuel, supplied by JR Motor Company) and we suddenly could not get the unit to accept/recognise the cartridge – it had been absolutely fine earlier. After a few mins, trying in vain to get it to work, Ian asked if I minded waiting and he would have the car immediately driven over to their workshop to try and fix. I agreed, figuring time well spent…..within the hour, the car was taken to the workshop, the issue resolved, and the car back and ready for my drive home! Wonderful attention to customer 🙂 Have to say that I would wholeheartedly recommend considering Ian and his team when you are looking to buy a quality, used Porsche.

My contact with JR Motor company started with an enquiry that I made online via Auto trader, I later received a phone call from a gentleman called Ian who was very polite and customer focus. Ian spoke to me extensively about Porsche to ascertain what I wanted considering that it was my first Porsche.

Ian was able to offer me a good value on my existing car even though he only sales Porsche, I was offered £1000 more for my car which was a very good value for a part-ex. Ian was able to put me at ease with reassurance and repeatedly told me not to take my time. I struck a very good rapport with Ian over the phone talking about Porsche. Ian is a huge enthusiast, he invited me to come down from London for a coffee and to have a look around his show room.

This was the easiest car purchase experience that I ever had (coming from an ex car dealer) it was like meeting a friend, the showroom is a treat to any Porsche enthusiast with all models from base Boxster to 911 turbo fully polished. The staff were all big time Porsche fans, I was offered a nice coffee and the key to a Guard Red Gen 2 Cayman, I forgot my coffee!. The rest was history after an extended test drive.

JR motor have full dealer facilities with different methods of payment, Ian did the paper work in seconds including road tax, V5 transfer and gave me complementary petrol that took me back to London. Ian did a professional hand over explaining the car to me and he gave me loads of reassurances such as “ call me for any issues or problems) plus a six month warranty on my pride and joy for peace of mind.

I will definitely use JR motor company again and I will recommend them to prospective customers.

An effortless buying experience. The cars are well prepared and presented and there’s no pressure to try and sell you something. I was able to look over the cars and review the history of them in my own time and Ian was always ready to answer any questions I had. His enthusiasm for the marque and the vehicles shines through. A high spec Boxster in wonderful condition at a fair price

We bought a 987 Gen 2 Boxster S recently and we could not be happier. Ian was a great guy to deal with and reserved the car for us as we travelled over 100 miles to view it. It was a great specification with loads of history and had clearly been looked after and well prepared for sale. It drives fantastically well and is a massive upgrade on our 987 Gen 1 Boxster S. The price was fair for the specification and condition and Ian clearly loves what he does. I would have loved to have paid less, who wouldn’t? But most importantly we are delighted with the car. I had the car inspected by Porschetek in Leeds who I trust implicitly and commented that it was a great car that had been very well looked after. I would happily recommend Ian to my friends and would not hesitate to use him again in future.

I had been looking for a Cayman with a specific specification which I happened to find at JR Motor Company in Coventry. Went along for a look and it was as described in the add and video – mint.
